Her journey began after earning a degree in Psychology, where she gained valuable experience working as a special needs educator in a classroom setting. Maureen Yong

Senior Behavioural Therapist

Throughout her junior college and university life, Maureen has been interested in psychology and education, and she started volunteering at various hospitals, institutions and special ed schools in Singapore. Those early experiences ignited her passion for working with children, particularly students with special needs. Upon graduation with a degree in Psychology, she started her professional journey as a special education classroom teacher.

Today, Maureen has over 5 years of professional experience both as a teacher and as an ABA Behavioural Therapist. She has worked with children from 18 months old to adulthood with a wide range of functional abilities. Her experiences have shaped her firm believe that with support from their families, every child has the potential to succeed in life. As a therapist and an educator, she guides each child towards success by breaking down difficult skills into smaller and more manageable steps based on the child’s abilities.

As Dr. O Ivar Lovaas says, “if they can’t learn the way we teach, we teach the way they learn.” Maureen strives to create an engaging and personalised learning environment for every child, with success at every small step as the foundation for teaching.

Tejal Jadhav

Senior Behavioural Therapist and Counsellor

With more than 8 years of experience, Tejal is a seasoned Professional Counsellor. Having lived in many different countries, experiencing and immersing in rich cultures has shaped her into being a sensitive and compassionate individual. Her journey began with a Master of Social Science in Professional Counseling in Singapore, where she delved into empowering women to achieve a better work-life balance and provided family therapy and children coaching. Her dedication led her to work in a hospice, specializing in grief and bereavement counseling, before transitioning into a thriving private practice.

Driven by her passion for helping others, Tejal found her niche in supporting special needs children. Her understanding of their unique challenges and triumphs, coupled with her expertise in Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Person-Centered Therapy (PCT), Positive Psychology, and Neuro Linguistic Practioner (Licensed) allows her to provide effective and integrative interventions. She tailors her approache to suit each client's needs, ensuring the most impactful outcomes.

Tejal’s commitment to collaboration with children and their families is unwavering. She creates a supportive environment where every child receives personalized care and attention, enabling them to flourish and reach their full potential.

Fun Fact Outside of her professional life, Tejal finds joy in Art, Mindfulness, and movement, which she seamlessly incorporates into her therapy work. Her love for the outdoors reflects her adventurous spirit, as she embraces the challenges and serenity nature offers.

Ursula Sum

Senior Behavioural Therapist

Close to 4 years of formal experience with children, she started in the education industry and developed a passion working with special needs children as a behavioural therapist. She draws principles from Applied Behavioural Analysis (ABA), Lindamood Bell and Co-regulation techniques and has worked with children & youth with Autism Spectrum Disorder, Intellectual Disabilities, Developmental Delays, and Oppositional Defiant Disorder. Since then, she has developed a sensitive understanding of a child’s strength, their behavioural and learning challenges which eventually helps children to feel understood and open to learning again.

Ursula also works concurrently with National Institute of Education as a research assistant, to develop tools to analyse the level of support amongst children with disabilities. Apart from that, she has expanded her knowledge into bereavement care and providing psychological first aid for victims of crime.

Fun Fact – Ursula has dabbled in many art hobbies such as professional photography, sculpture and water color.
